Meerkat madness

Okay, hands up those of you who just knew that I would complete my meerkat collection by getting the five I didn’t have. It’s only two weeks since I wrote about the last four I got and in that two weeks Royal Mail and Hermes have been kept busy delivering various parcels to my address every few days. These are all new, never been out of their boxes and all came with their certificates and tags, so here we have –
Sleepy Oleg
Aleksandr as Batman
Sergei as Superman
Aleksandr as Luke Skywalker
Sergei as Obi-Wan Kenobi
Batman and Superman
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker
So that’s it, I’ve completed the full set of nineteen meerkats although sticking with the Star Wars theme it would have been nice if ‘compare the meerkat’ could have done Maiya as Princess Leia, and Oleg as Yoda. There are no more however – probably a good thing really otherwise who knows where it would all end.

  1. Well you probably knew I would 🙂 At first I wasn’t sure about Luke Skywalker as all the ones I’d seen looked a bit odd so I wasn’t going to get it but this one was just about the cutest so he completed the collection. I think Michael will eventually be like your daughter, he’ll need a very large skip! 🙂 🙂

  2. I think the Natwest piggy banks are ugly things, I’ve seen odd ones for sale in charity shops for less than a fiver though I know at one time they were quite collectable and would sell for silly money. At least the meerkats are something cute for Michael to inherit 🙂

    1. Most of them are on top of the long wall unit in the living room and the rest are on top of the side-by-side display cabinets – I’ve had to move a few mice around to accommodate them 🙂

  3. Yep, I knew it would happen, haha. They’re just so irresistible, aren’t they? I’ve got a fair few but nowhere near the full set. I wonder if they’ll ever make them again.

    1. I doubt that they’ll be made again but you never know. I don’t think anyone would ever manage to collect the full set though without resorting to getting them from ebay etc. as there are 19 in total but they were only produced for 7 years between July 2011 and May 2018.

  4. Hands up at the back here 🤭

There was never any doubt where this story would go! If they make you smile everytime you see them, then worth every single delivery. xx
